How does Alamo Rent A Car's Touch Screen Kiosk program work?
As a proven industry leader in developing technologies that make the travel process faster and easier, Alamo Rent A Car developed the first self-service car rental kiosk in July 2005. Customers renting in the U.S. have access to 159 kiosks at 65 U.S. locations in 28 states and the District of Columbia. The system reduces the check-in time for customers by approximately 50 percent when compared to average counter check-in times. It complements Alamo Rent A Car's other self-service products designed to give customers a hassle-free car rental experience, such as Alamo.com and the industry's first Online Check-In system.

The touch screen kiosk allows any customer with a valid driver's license, major credit card and an existing reservation to skip the rental counter and check in directly at the kiosk. It also allows the customer to review rental information, upgrade to a larger car class, add additional drivers, and purchase option items such as Navigation Station (GPS unit), Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), Pre Pay Gasoline, and child car seats.

Travelers obviously appreciate the convenience; in early 2008 we served our one-millionth kiosk customer.

Can I take a photo of an Alamo Rent A Car operation to accompany my story?

Alamo Rent A Car offers customers in most locations the option to purchase optional coverages to provide a level of protection should they be involved in an accident while driving an Alamo Rent A Car rental vehicle. The cost of these coverages varies by region. We suggest that all renters first check with their insurance provider to determine if the insurance coverage on their personal automobile extends to a rental car before making any decisions about which, if any, optional products to purchase.

The following are the optional products offered at most Alamo Rent A Car branches:

• Collision Damage Waiver — Covers the cost of damages to the rental car if the vehicle is involved in an accident.
• Personal Accident Insurance — Covers medical and ambulance bills for the rental car driver and passengers.
• Roadside Assistance — Protection for flat tires, keys locked in the car and other on-location services.
• Supplemental Liability Protection — Covers the cost of damages to a third party.
• Theft Protection — Covers personal items in the rental car.
